- Pre-K through 5: Teacher-directed use only. Students do not independently use generative AI.
- Grades 6 through 8: Guided and structured. AI only when permitted; disclosure required.
- Grades 9 through 12: Independent with integrity. AI may be used unless explicitly prohibited; always disclosed.
The non-negotiables
- AI may not be used on quizzes, tests, finals, or other monitored assessments unless explicitly permitted.
- AI-generated content may not be submitted as independent work without disclosure.
- Students must follow external rules for college applications or programs when those restrict AI use.
- Privacy red lines apply to students too: no personal identifying information, no passwords, no confidential school documents.
